Specialized education courses for Higher Technician Diploma

Goal

Train Higher Technicians capable of entering the strategic sectors of the Campania economic-productive system; develop methods for innovation and technology transfer to small and medium-sized enterprises

Higher Technical Institutes set up as Participatory Foundations

Targets

Young people and adults with an upper secondary education diploma or a four-year cvocational education and training diploma and who have attended an additional annual course

ITS are Higher Technical Education Institutes set up in the form of a participation foundation with a public-private management model of non-profit activities.
The minimum standard for the establishment of ITS Foundations requires the presence of at least:

  • an upper secondary education institution of the technical or professional order
  • a local authority (municipality, province, metropolitan city, mountain community)
  • a training structure accredited by the Region for higher education
  • an enterprise in the production sector to which the ITS refers
  • a university department or other body belonging to the scientific and technological research system

In Campania, nine ITS foundations operate in four of the six technological areas envisaged at national level:

Technological Area 1 – Energy efficiency
Technological Area 2 – Sustainable mobility
Technological Area 4 – New technologies for Made in Italy
Technological Area 5 – Innovative technologies for cultural heritage and activities – Tourism

The courses last two or three years (4/6 semesters – for a total of 1800/2000 hours). The internship is compulsory for 30% of the total hours and at least 50% of the teachers come from the world of work. The work experience in the company can be carried out with a high-level training and research apprenticeship contract. The courses end with final checks, conducted by examination boards made up of representatives of the school, university, professional training and experts from the world of work.

The ITS allow to acquire a Higher Technical Diploma with the certification of the competences corresponding to the V level of the European Qualification Framework. To facilitate circulation at a national and European level, the qualification is accompanied by the EUROPASS diploma supplement.

The ITS Program is financed from the resources of the POR Campania ESF 20214-2020 Axis III, Specific Objective 17 – Investment Priority 10.IV, Action 10.5.3 and, in part, from national resources.
